Day+1: He's gone

Sorry that Chad wasn't able to give an update, but that's what happens at the last minute and everything you think you'll have time for, you just don't. Chad's now gone. I have had my moments of tears. It was really hard leaving him. Our oldest son, had a really hard time. He still remembers Daddy being gone last yr and he has a good concept that Daddy will be gone for a long time.

There's this feeling of such loss when you have to walk away from the bus. Your heart is just torn in half...half of it being left on that bus taking your husband away for the next year. Seeing your children crying and knowing that the person who could make them stop is leaving for the next year.

To be honest I'm really struggling to find the right words to even describe all the feelings inside of me. It's almost impossible, well it's completely impossible at this exact moment actually.

Chad said he'll hopefully have a chance to write an email in the next week for me to post on here.

I'll try to update later, and have it a better update at that.

I somewhat know how you feel.  My brother was in Desert Storm.

Stay strong.  I know it must be hard when you have young ones.

That feeling is so close to home. I remember saying bye for the first time and it was so hard. Driving away from him was the hardest thing I had to do. I'm here for you hun. I'll always be here for you. (((HUGS)))

Christy; God put you upon my heart today and I prayed for you. He knew what you are going through and how hard it would be to say goodbye to Chad. And how hard it is for Chad and the others to say goodbye to their loved ones. He is holding you both in the palm of his hand and he will never let you go.

Hugs to you; you and Chad will be in my thoughts and prayers every day of the time he is away from you and your boys. Hugs to your oldest too, for realizing the enormity of dad being gone. Again, thank you and Chad, for serving our country.

God bless you Christy for what your family is sacrificing so we can all be safe.   Jacob is wise beyond his years, bless his little hurting heart.   I will pray for Chad's safety, his emotional and spiritual well-being, and for you and the boys every single day until he is home with you again.  That is my promise to you, my dear friend and it is the least I can do.  Love you all, Lisa

Christy, I am so sorry. I don't know what to say.  Your in our hearts and prayers.  Those so many people for you to talk to in journal land alone; and, if you choose, I would listen to anything you need to say.
I want Chad to know that we thank him for what he is doing not only for us as americans, but all the other countries as well.
God Bless your entire family.

Chad will be in my families prayers...each and every day. With that being said, we wanted you to know the same goes for you and the boys. I know I am a LONGGGG way from Germany......but I am just a few types away....my email and IM's are always open.....please use them. I know from what you have said on the board....you are going to be very busy.....and that is truly the best for you and the boys. God bless you Christy, Chad and Children

I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to read journals this week.  My sister is visiting from Portland, OR.  I am so sorry he is gone already.  I will send prayers for peace of mind.
