Day-2

Just wanted to say welcome. Chad's still home for a couple more days and then he'll be leaving us. It may be a little while until he is able write up an email for the journal. We're both excited to do this and give people a glimpse of what a deployment in Iraq is REALLY like from the soldier's perspective as well as the wife and kids perspective of being "left behind".

I'll ask Chad to write up something before he leaves of his feelings before hand....

Feel free to share this link with others. :)

God Bless

Chad, Christy and Boys~Thank you so much for sharing this journal. The concept is really beautiful, and I hope it also helps your sweet family knowing that so many of us will be 'right there with you.' You're always in our daily prayers~and I've considered your family an extension of my own family~for a long, long time. God bless you as you embark yet another journey. (((((HUGS))))) ~G'Ma Cindy

Sorry that you had to make this journal because of what it means - Chad being away from you and the boys - but SO VERY THANKFUL that there are men and women like Chad who go out willing to protect our country and other countries and also SO VERY THANKFUL for the families that they leave behind, knowing how hard it is for them to do so. Thank you, Chad, for your faithful service to our country and thank you, Christy, for allowing him to do so.

Hi Sweet Pea!

I am so glad you sent me this link! I will be very happy to come here and visit often. I think it is so very cool that this journal will be a joint effort.. that you both will write your thoughts here. I KNOW there are so many good things going on in our military that we don't often hear from the liberal media. I will look forward to Chad's perspective as he is on those front lines experiencing the daily victories! God bless you Chad, & keep you safe!
Christy girl.. may the Lord provide, protect and give you the strength to get through this time. I KNOW already, that you are strong.. and though you will be far apart, you two are a great team!!

I hope the boys are well! Big hugs to you ALL!!!
See you again soon!

I feel like you are me.  My husband and i are based at fort drum, ny.  my husband will be leaving for his second deployment to afghanistand in a couple of months and it will be my first since i met him.  i have no idea how i'm going to handle him being away from my son and i.  i am so scared of the feeling of missing him soooooo much.  when he was away at trainings for a month i could barely take it so this will be extremely tough on me.  its so nice to read things from other people that i can relate to.  we recently just moved on base away from my family and i don't know anyone yet.  it's hard.  thanks for being strong for those of us who haven't found that strength yet.
